Review| Children Of Nova: Impossible Landscape

Children of Nova ,a Progressive Rock band from San Diego, California release their album Impossible Landscape which is a mix of Alternative and Prog rock and it impressed me a lot! My first time with their music though I learnt that they had previously released an EP- The Complexity Of Light.
With 11 tracks with much experimentalism and clocked  at 43:12 mins it got me addicted to the title track(for which they also released a music video) and What Do You See?
Clear cut guitar lines and vocals, these guys indulge in some atmospheric feel without even trying, well, that’s what I feel.
The tracklisting goes thus-
1.Erratic
2.Kaleido
3. Impossible Landscape
4. Moments of Clarity
5.Feel Alive
6. First Signs
7.What Do You See?
8. The Troubled Soul
9. This Graceful Tragedy
10. Silhouette
11. It’s just a Ride

Catchy tunes is what describes this album and the  band is almost probably in a win-win situation for the songs to be played at people’s home and live-giving
the same erotic feeling every single time! I ran through the entire tracklist twice before actually trying to know what they were doing with their
sounds. But,yes, I loved it. Its nothing new. Almost like playing with old tunes but the interludes like that in Erratic(2:12-2:44) give me the feel which only few
bands have had done till date! They might sound like some other contemporary alternative bands at times though which indulge in odd time meters (Circa Survive and the like), but I think the sound works for the band as a whole which is a little heavier than most bands!
The songs speak a lot as do the well versed lyrics! Silhouette is almost an acoustic song and the album almost has,I feel, everything the band wanted in it!
The album artwork with a girl’s face, facing sideways and sleepy eyed all in different shades of blues and little maroon speaks a lot and I suggest you to go grab
the album here! You won’t be disappointed!
